Our Mission
As a member-owned financial institution, our priority is to exceed the expectations of our membership through honesty, integrity and a commitment through education, thus making a difference in our communities.
Your Credit Union History
The employees of Ross Gear (now TRW Ross Gear
Division) originally chartered Industrial Federal Credit Union (IFCU) in 1954.
It was their desire to lay the foundation for a financial institution owned and
directed by its own members. Originally located in a tiny office on the Ross
Gear premises at 800 Heath Street in Lafayette, the credit union offered savings
accounts and small personal loans. Although our services and locations continue
to expand, we're still directed by the philosophy of our found ing members -
service to our members. It's the reason we're here.
Beginning in 1977, the credit union's charter was expanded to include other
companies. Today, Industrial Federal Credit Union's membership includes more
than 400 Premium Partners in many different professions. As we have grown, our
purpose has remained constant: to serve our members’ financial needs while
returning any profits to them in the form of dividends, low rate loans, and low
cost services.
Employees of our Premium Partners, their spouses and their immediate family members are
eligible for membership, including the right to vote for your credit union's
Board of Directors - thus impacting the credit union's decision making process.
Best of all, once you're an IFCU member, you're always a member! This is true
even if you should change employers or move to a different household.
Welcome to Industrial Federal Credit Union!
