TEXT FRAUD ALERT!
Several Credit Union members in the state of Indiana are receiving fraudulent text messages. "
This text message did not originate from Industrial Federal Credit Union. This is a SCAM.
This is called SMISHing: when criminals use a text message to try to get members to take action, i.e. call a specific number and give details or click on a link. Also, notice the message is generic – it does not say Industrial Federal Credit Union.
Cardholders are receiving fraudulent text alerts. After a text is sent, the fraudsters are following up with a phone call. If you receive one of the text messages and a follow up call, please hang up and contact the phone number on the back of your card. The fraudulent caller is pretending to be an agent or representative from IFCU. Please know, IFCU will never ask for your debit card or credit card number.
IFCU Debit cardholders are unable to receive Text messages about fraud alerts. If you receive a text related to your debit card, this is fraud.
IFCU Credit Cardholders only receive text messages if they are enrolled into the IFCU Credit Card Mobile App. Please be very aware of any text message you receive. Check your Credit Card account to verify if fraudulent purchases have been attempted. You may do this by contacting IFCU or reviewing your Credit Card online.
